V for Valentine: Part 2

At the end of the day, what all this really is, when the mask is thrown from villain, we discover it is really Homophobia. Its the FEAR of us that strikes their heart. Its their attack on their own personal beliefs that cause them to stand up and force their own views of whats right or wrong upon others. Take into account the “Harm Principal”

‘Harm principle refers to a theory of crime that an action can only be banned if it causes harm to someone. The principle does not say that if an action is harmful, it must be banned; instead it says that harmful actions are the only ones that can be banned. The harm principle simply sets a minimal standard for what sorts of actions… justifiably prohibit.’

So outside of offending someone else’s beliefs, which is done everyday in this country, what harm is there in allowing Gay and Trans people to marry?

This simple question and its simple answer is the reason I think Attorney Olson, a republican, is defending Gay Marriage. There is no more harm in allowing Same Sex unions then there is Opposite sex unions. There is no viable reason that can be applied to the LGBT community that could not be applied to the Heterosexual community. This is just another example of a few law makers attempting to force their opinions on their citizens.

Fear, Discrimination, Bigotry, Homophobia….these are the real reasons. These reasons are strong and powerful and can lead people to do terrible things. They can be full of hate. Hate turns family against family, friend against friend and stranger against stranger. Hate does not care who it hurts. It does not care who it kills. It does not care for the happiness of others.

I don’t understand why they hate us so much. I don’t comprehend what we did that was so terrible. I don’t get why being who I am, the way I was born, offends them so much. I don’t understand why a straight man or woman’s life and happiness is any more valuable then mine. I don’t understand their hatred…..

If only we could be as perfect as they are.
